Museum of National Resistance Koryschades

The history of this place is connected with the years of Occupation and Resistance and this museum commemorates these difficult years. The museum is housed in the old elementary school of Koryschades. This is the same building where in May 1944 the National Council of free Greece had their first meeting after the nationwide secret elections. The meeting was attended by 176 Counselors from all over Greece and they all agreed that "Power derives from the people and is exercised by the people”. Also, in the museum there is an exhibition of photographs of Spyros Meletzis, photographer of the National Resistance.
