In the center of Karpenissi, just a few meters far from the central square of the city, you will find the Holy Trinity Church, which is listed as a historic monument built in the 17th century. Eugene Giannoulis the Aitolos (1597-1682) helped a lot in building the church in 1654. He also founded the first school in Evrytania for higher education. His bust can be seen in the courtyard of the church.
Above the main entrance of the church you can read the inscription written by the benefactor explaining how everyone who enters in the Church will receive the grace of the Holy Trinity.
